PUBLIC COMMENT INVITED ON VSO’S COMPLIANCE WITH ACCREDITATION STANDARDS

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). In addition to CALEA’s Law Enforcement Accreditation program, VSO also participates in the Public Safety Communications and Public Safety Training Academy accreditation programs provided by CALEA.

CALEA has created a public portal designed to receive comments regarding VSO’s compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services, and overall candidacy for accredited status.

These comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide information to support continuous improvement, as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
