On Friday, Feb. 7, former Deland High School standout Lauren Fantone’s current college team, the Tampa Spartans, won 6-5 in their NCAA Division II softball game against the West Alabama Tigers.
The game took place at Naimoli Family Softball Field. This was their second matchup against the Tigers this season.
The Spartans’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. at Steel’s Diamond at Blazer Park against Valdosta State Blazers.
