On Thursday, Feb. 6, former Deland High School standout Sam Monk’s current college team, the Colorado Mines Orediggers, won 9-7 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Cal State San Marcos Cougars.
The game took place at CSUSM Baseball Field. This was their first matchup against the Cougars this season.
The Orediggers’ next game is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7 at 3 p.m. at Carroll B. Land Stadium against Point Loma Sea Lions.
