Beacon College issued the following announcement on July 30.
Beacon College has been named a finalist in two categories in the 2021 PRSA Sunshine District Radiance Awards.
Presented by Publix, the Radiance Awards recognize outstanding strategic public relations programs by Florida practitioners and organizations. The statewide awards recognize the highest levels of professional achievement. The awards highlight PR campaigns and tactics that demonstrate excellence in research, planning, implementation and evaluation, as well as individuals who have shown great commitment to the profession.
Two entries submitted by the Beacon Office of College Communications were selected as finalists in the competition: the 2020 EASE Grant booklet in the Collateral (brochures / direct mail / posters) category and Beacon College Makes “A World of Difference” in the Videos category.
“Seeing the work we do for our special institution being recognized among some of the state’s top communicators is a humbling and exhilarating reality,” said Darryl E. Owens, director of communications at Beacon College. “The recognition is a by-product of the momentum that Beacon College is gaining as the leading voice along the lifespan for individuals with learning disabilities.”
Chartered in 1947, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is the world’s largest and foremost organization of public relations professionals with more than 22,000 public relations and communications professionals, in addition to more than 10,000 university and college students through the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
Winning entries in the 2021 PRSA Sunshine District Radiance Awards will be announced during a virtual awards celebration on August 24. Finalists will either receive an Award of Commendation or a Radiance Award.
