Deltona to Commence Water Reclamation Project

Water meter(1000)

City of Deltona issued the following announcement on Dec. 9.

The City of Deltona will begin a new public works project, that will increase the amount of available reclaimed water for residential and commercial irrigation.

Preparations for the work began yesterday with Duke Energy clearing trees and brush from the western side of the Lakeshore property, temporarily affecting a portion of the boat ramp parking lot.  The land clearing is expected to be completed by Monday.

The Water Reclamation and Aquifer Recharge Project will draw surface water from Lake Monroe, at the site of the Lakeshore Community Center.  Actual construction will begin in January 2022, and is expected to last for eighteen months.  Additional information about this project will be available on the City website as the actual start date gets closer.
