Reservations open for Feb. 8 State of the County address

2021

Volusia County issued the following announcement on Jan. 18.

The year 2021 saw a great deal of change in Volusia County government. It also was a year full of meaningful improvements for bedrock issues such as water protection, public safety and beach services. The achievements of the last year and the path to future progress will be on full display during Volusia’s annual State of the County address on Feb. 8 at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach.

The county’s home-rule charter requires the county chair to report each year to the public on the county’s activities, goals and objectives. The State of the County is underwritten by community sponsors and is free of charge to the public. The event will include an address by Volusia County Chair Jeff Brower, a year-in-review video presentation from the rest of the County Council and lunch. The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. and the two-hour event will start at noon.

Seating for the luncheon is limited and reservations are required. Reservations can be made online at https://2022soc.eventbrite.com. The deadline is Friday, Jan. 28, 2022.

The event will take place in the Ocean Center’s exhibit hall and also will be live-streamed on the county’s website, volusia.org. For questions, email Claudia Pizarro at cpizarro@volusia.org.
