City of DeBary issued the following announcement on Feb. 3.
The City of DeBary announced that they have been selected as the State's next Trail Town! The designation will be endorsed on April 7 at the next meeting of the Florida Greenway's and Trails Council meeting.
A Trail Town is a vibrant destination where people come together, a place where trail users can venture off a hiking, biking, equestrian or paddling trail to enjoy the amenities and unique heritage of the community, benefiting the town economically and socially. Only 11 other communities in FL hold this designation and DeBary will be the 12th.
The designation was a priority of this Council but the program was put on hold during the pandemic. It reopened recently and the City submitted its application. Part of the application was a video, which you can see here. The City would like to thank Orange City Mayor Gary Blair, Deltona Commissioner Victor Ramos, and Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood for helping us with our video - DeBary Trails, where they can take you and who you can meet - helping to highlight the connectivity of our trails. And a special thanks to our Mayor, Karen Chasez.
DeBary, Naturally. More than you imagined.
