The DeLand Police Department will be launching a new fingerprinting system beginning June 7th, 2022. LiveScan is an inkless, electronic means of capturing fingerprints in a digitized format which are then transmitted to a state repository such as the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and/or the FBI for background check purposes. Previously, fingerprints were taken by applying ink to each finger, then rolling each finger on a fingerprint card. This method was inherently messy and prone to capturing poor image quality. By processing fingerprints electronically, criminal history responses can be provided much quicker.

Fingerprinting services at DPD (219 W Howry Avenue) are available during the following days and times on a walk-in basis. The cost is $5. We accept cash or credit/debit card.

Tuesdays:  10:30am – 1:00pm

Thursdays:  10:30am – 1:00pm
