Beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, August 06, the City of DeLand and Spring Hill Neighborhood Association, will hand out roughly 1,000 backpacks at the 12th Annual Mayor’s Backpack Giveaway. The event will be at Earl Brown Park.

Beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, August 6th, the City of DeLand and Spring Hill Neighborhood
Association, will hand out roughly 1,000 backpacks at the 12th Annual Mayor’s
Backpack Giveaway. The event will be at Earl Brown Park, 815 South Alabama
Avenue.
The backpacks will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis, so parents
and children will want to come early. Those waiting in line will receive one
voucher ticket per student to ensure they receive a backpack.
After backpacks are given out, parents and children will be able to visit other
vendors giving out various school supplies near the Earl Brown Park amphitheater.
