Congratulations to the 17 nominees and winners of the 2022 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year awards presented tonight at the annual Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida banquet.
Crime Stoppers honors an Officer of the Year in each of the four counties in the 7th Judicial Circuit (Volusia, Flagler, Lake and Putnam counties) for extraordinary acts of heroism.
Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood introduced the nominees from Volusia. They are:

--Officer Kevin Nugent, Edgewater PD;
--Sgt. Joshua Buday, FHP;
--Investigator Andrew Wilmot, Holly Hill PD;
--Officer Brittny Olsen, New Smyrna Beach PD;
--Investigator Lily Efird, Office of the State Attorney, 7th Judicial Circuit;
-- Detective Timothy " Scott" Theriault, Orange City PD;
--Detective Ryan Smith, Ormond Beach PD;
--Officer Taylor Sanderson, South Daytona PD;
--Officer Brian Serio, Volusia County Beach Safety;
--Detective Michael Vanzo, Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
