Residents whose homes are flooded and don’t have flood insurance can apply for assistance through FEMA. Volusia County is working with FEMA to set up a location where residents can apply for assistance. If residents are denied, they can appeal the FEMA decision or apply for a loan from the Small Business Administration.
FEMA employees are working as fast as they possibly can, and they ask residents to be patient as they work through the catastrophic damage Ian caused across Florida.
