FEMA has opened a new Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Volusia County to assist victims of Hurricanes Ian and Nicole. The DRC is at The Center at Deltona, 1640 Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd., and will operate from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The DRC will not operate on Sundays.

In addition to visiting the DRC in Deltona, applications for FEMA assistance may be submitted at disasterassistance.gov, through the FEMA mobile app or by calling 800-621-3362. Another DRC is available in Volusia County at the Florida Department of Health-Volusia, 1845 Holsonback Drive, Daytona Beach.

Representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will also be at the DRC to assist homeowners, renters, business owners, homeowners associations and most private nonprofit organizations to apply for loans, submit additional documentation, appeal a loan denial notice and provide status updates on an existing loan application

The deadline to apply for FEMA assistance and/or an SBA physical property damage loan is Jan. 12 for Hurricane Ian and Feb. 13 for Hurricane Nicole.
