A 9-year-old girl, a Spectrum News 13 journalist and an innocent woman all killed by one 19-year-old criminal in Orange County. The girl’s mom and another Spectrum crew member in critical condition. Our hearts at the Volusia Sheriff's Office go out to all those who are shocked and in grief. I don’t know if anyone can comprehend the kind of person who would take the life of a 9-year-old. To ALL of the professionals in the news media who are dealing with the loss of a friend and colleague, please accept our sincere condolences and know that we appreciate your service to our communities. -Sheriff Mike Chitwood
