Last night, the driver of a black Cadillac CTS fled from an attempted traffic stop and later crashed into an occupied vehicle. The driver took off running, but DeLand Police Department officers quickly caught him in front of some nearby apartments.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies found about 57g fentanyl, 47g powder cocaine, 4g crack cocaine, 3g MDMA, along with paraphernalia and marijuana.
Damion Bletcher (DOB 7/31/1980) was charged with reckless fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement causing injury, leaving the scene of a crash with injury, trafficking in fentanyl, trafficking in cocaine, possession of MDMA, possession of cannabis with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended/revoked. He was also arrested on several open warrants for failure to appear on charges including child abuse, felony battery, criminal mischief, resisting and driving with a suspended license.
One person in the vehicle Bletcher crashed into was taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
As of this post, Bletcher remained in the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond on his felony failure to appear charges, and $782,500 bond on his various other charges.
